Narcissa sighed as she sat upon the black leather couch before the enchanted fireplace, it was impossible for there to be a real one in the Slytherin commons, as they were located beneath the Black Lake. Narcissa didn't mind, then the grate could hold the green flames the Slytherin commons were infamous for. An eerie green glow lingered about the room, most likely because of its location. It used to scare Narcissa when she was younger, but she had grown used to it by now. She ran a hand through her hair after removing it from its bun at the nape of her neck.
It had been a long day, she felt that she needed a bit of time to unwind before getting a start on her homework. It was awful being a fifth year, all the teachers felt that they could pile on five times the normal amount of work just because they would be taking Ordinary Wizard Level tests at the end of the school year. Uncharacteristically, the commons were empty. True, it was supper time, but normally everybody would be finished by now, wouldn't they? Narcissa crossed her right leg over her left, gaze not leaving the green flames in the grate.
She thought on the looming aspect of all the homework and sighed again. She did not have any desire to even start any of it, let alone finish an essay for Defense Against the Dark Arts, a rune chart for Ancient Runes, several diagrams for both Potions and Transfiguration, on top of studying for an approaching Charms test. Narcissa groaned slightly and laid her head against the couch, thinking in vain that if she closed her eyes long enough the homework would do itself. Footsteps echoed in the room, who could it be? "Oh, hello," Narcissa said to...

"Oh, hello,"
Bellatrix Black smiled. "Hello, Cissy," She half laughed half groaned. Bellatrix wasn't in the mood for someone like Cissy. She hated taking her under her wing sometimes... They were just different. Bellatrix knew, she had a heart for someone that would hinder the Death Eaters. And Bellatrix knew she had to convince her to marry a Pure-Blood... But the key was that he had to be a good and loyal one... That was the hard part.
Bellatrix has just come from a fight with a couple of younger Gryffindors in the girls washroom. She couldn't figure out why they would want to taker her on. Three second years to one seventh. Stupid.
"Having fun with your O.W.L.s this year?" Bellatrix asked. "The homework doesn't do itself, Cissy." Bellatrix smiled. Ether this comment would make her sister mad, or would make her sister work was up to chance.
Bellatrix knew that she would have to never stop working to achieve a high Black family standards for her two... One other sister to live up to.

Narcissa gave a small smile to her older sister. They probably didn't get along very well at times, but at least better than she did with Andromeda. That woman and her obsession with Ted Tonks.... Hogwarts was so strange of late. Narcissa found that she didn't recognize half the people in the halls, and most of the professors there, she didn't recognize at all. Professor Dumbledore had told her that it was now in the 1990's, but Narcissa couldn't remember anything past 1968. This was all too strange.
Narcissa groaned at Bellatrix's mention of OWL, and all the homework that needed to be done. She wanted to say something rude back to her sister, but experience had taught her that being curt with Bellatrix was never a good idea. She remained on the couch, her subtle form of defiance. She would do it later, she had all night. Granted, which was only a couple of hours, but still, she felt she earned some time to relax after that day. "Bella, what do you think of Lucius?" Narcissa blurted suddenly. She blushed a bit after doing so.
She had had a crush on him ever since she first saw him. A small one, which didn't stop her from flirting with other males, but he somehow always came into the back of her mind as she did so. A Malfoy. Surely the Black family as a whole would approve.

Bellatrix's black eyes watched as her sister stayed on the couch. It didn't bother her that Cissy didn't move, it bothered her because she didn't say anything back. But that was Cissy. She was raised well, but not well enough.
"Bella, what do you think of Lucius?"
Bellatrix was caught off guard. She glanced around the common room wondering who was around. She gritted her teeth. Only a first year, she thought. "Well," Bellatrix started, "He would be better then Tonks." She said simply.
When Bellatrix was around Lucius she couldn't help but to think him half-hearted. But if her sister could spend the rest of her life with him in the future, Bellatrix's only request would be that their kid keep's the pure-blood mania going.

A small smile teased at the corners of Narcissa's lips as her thoughts wandered to Lucius Malfoy. He was worthy enough to be the love of any respectable pure-blooded female. He reminded her of herself in appearance almost. Pale-skinned, light blonde hair, and those grey eyes of his... They were to die for. She wanted to giggle, but refrained. After all, she was around Bella, who would most likely disapprove of such "girlish" actions.
She eyed the first year coldly, how dare he intrude on their conversation? He ran off to go somewhere that Narcissa didn't really care about. She was now left alone with her older sister. It sometimes felt strange to be around Bella, they were different, in spite of both of them being sorted into Slytherin. But Narcissa couldn't really complain about her older sister. At least she didn't go after the Mudblood.
Narcissa raised her eyebrows at Bella once she had finished talking. She didn't sound terribly enthusiatic about her secret heartthrob. Lucius was a pure-blood, and she was certain a supporter. "You don't sound impressed with him," Narcissa noted with a bit of a frown. A little of support in her ambitions might be nice to have once in a while.
